How do I pick a coach?
We will ask you a series of questions to determine which of our Academy coaches is the best match.
How many lessons do I have left?
Contact the Skating Academy's office at 917-492-3858.
When will I receive my membership card?
Students receive their membership card on their first day of lesson.
I don't have my card, can you check me in?
Students MUST have their cards in order to check in for lessons. If someone besides parents is bringing student, you MUST give the caregiver the membership card to check in.
I lost my card, can I get another one?
Yes, there is a $10 replacement fee.
Can my family members skate while I have take my lesson?
Yes, they must pay admission and rent skates.
If am running late for my lesson, can I still receive my full 30 minute lesson?
Our Academy coaches are booked back to back and are on a timed schedule. We urge members to arrive 15 minutes before their lesson to allow for check in and lacing up skates. Lessons begin on time and unfortunately you will not be able to receive your full 30 minutes.
What is the cancellation policy for lessons?
You must contact the Skating Academy's office 24 hours in advance by phone or email to cancelled or reschedule a lesson. If you do not show up or cancel with enough notice, payment/credit for the lesson will be charged in order to compensate for the coaches time and scheduling block.
Where do I check in for my lesson?
Students must check in at the Skating Academy's office and will receive a ticket to give to their coach to start the lesson.
Where do I find my coach?
Once you check in, you will be notified where to meet your coach.
How can I get my skates sharpen before my lesson?
Please arrive about 1 hour before your lesson to sharpen your skates. While you are checking in, you may pay for skate sharpening. Please note: Brand new skates will need to be sharpened.
What happens when the weather is bad?
You may check the status of your skating program on days of inclement weather by logging on to our website: www.laskerrink.com Weather status updates can be found on the home page of our website. We also have an Instagram account dedicated to Skating Academy @laskerskatingschool.
What should I wear during lessons?
Children under 7 years old are required to wear a helmet. Gloves are recommended since children may fall on the ice. Comfortable clothing and a hat is suggested.
What is your refund policy?
Lesson fees are non-refundable, but credit may be transferred to another skater or future skating season.
