Lasker Rink Ice Skating Academy's professional coaching staff and visiting coaches feature individuals with US National medalists and International competitors. We have specialists from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds offering expert training techniques from basic foundation skills and edge technique to pairs skating, ice dancing, Moves-in-the-Field, choreography, and jump-and-spin technique.

Adult and youth private lessons are available for both recreational and competitive skaters. Whatever your interest in skating, we have a specialized coach just for you.

  • Private Skating Lessons

    • Individual instruction may be the best way to master your skills on the ice with confidence. Our coaches are dedicated to making sure skaters learn the proper skating technique, as well as make skating a fun and safe experience for everyone.

      One Time Lesson:
      $65.00 + Admission & Skate Rental
       
      Packages:
      5 pack lesson: $300 + $30 registration fee
      5 pack skate rental package: $40.00
      10 pack lesson: $595 + $30 registration fee
      10 pack skate rental package: $80.00


      All family members who wish to enter the facility must pay admission
      Children under 12 must be accompany by an adult inside the facility

  • Semi-Private Skating Lessons

    • Sometimes it's nice to skate with a friend! Semi-Private lessons may be booked by planning a lesson with another parent/skater and then calling the skate school office.
      **More than two skaters will be considered a private group lesson please call the Skate School office for information and pricing if interested.

      One Time Semi-Private:
      $50 + admission & skate rental per person

      Semi-Private Packages:
      5 semi-pack lessons: $225 + $30 registration fee per person
      5 skate rental package: $40.00 per person 

      10 semi-pack lessons: $445 + $30 registration fee per person
      10 skate rental package: $80.00 per person

  • One-Time Private Lessons

    • Whether you are just visiting or are new to the area, we offer one time private lessons for you or your child. Book 24 hours in advance to secure a spot. Walk-In appointments are booked on a space available basis.

      One Time Private lesson:
      $65 + admission & skate rentals

      One Time Semi-Private lesson:
      $50 + admission & skate rentals per person

    • How can I book a private lesson?
      Contact the Skating Academy either by phone or email to book a lesson.

      How do I pick a coach?
      We will ask you a series of questions to determine which of our Academy coaches is the best match.

      How many lessons do I have left?
      Contact the Skating Academy's office at 917-492-3858.


      When will I receive my membership card?
      Students receive their membership card on their first day of lesson.

      I don't have my card, can you check me in?

      Students MUST have their cards in order to check in for lessons. If someone besides parents is bringing student, you MUST give the caregiver the membership card to check in.

      I lost my card, can I get another one?
      Yes, there is a $10 replacement fee.


      Can my family members skate while I have take my lesson?
      Yes, they must pay admission and rent skates.

      If am running late for my lesson, can I still receive my full 30 minute lesson?
      Our Academy coaches are booked back to back and are on a timed schedule. We urge members to arrive 15 minutes before their lesson to allow for check in and lacing up skates. Lessons begin on time and unfortunately you will not be able to receive your full 30 minutes.

      What is the cancellation policy for lessons?

      You must contact the Skating Academy's office 24 hours in advance by phone or email to cancelled or reschedule a lesson. If you do not show up or cancel with enough notice, payment/credit for the lesson will be charged in order to compensate for the coaches time and scheduling block.

      Where do I check in for my lesson?
      Students must check in at the Skating Academy's office and will receive a ticket to give to their coach to start the lesson.

      Where do I find my coach?
      Once you check in, you will be notified where to meet your coach.

      How can I get my skates sharpen before my lesson?
      Please arrive about 1 hour before your lesson to sharpen your skates. While you are checking in, you may pay for skate sharpening. Please note: Brand new skates will need to be sharpened.

      What happens when the weather is bad?
      You may check the status of your skating program on days of inclement weather by logging on to our website: www.laskerrink.com Weather status updates can be found on the home page of our website. We also have an Instagram account dedicated to Skating Academy @laskerskatingschool.

      What should I wear during lessons?
      Children under 7 years old are required to wear a helmet. Gloves are recommended since children may fall on the ice. Comfortable clothing and a hat is suggested.

      What is your refund policy?
      Lesson fees are non-refundable, but credit may be transferred to another skater or future skating season.
