Adult Programs 


Here at Lasker Rink Skating Academy, we believe that you are never too old to learn a new sport. We feel that skating is for both children and adults. From learning Ice Dancing, to beginner jumps and spins, we're here to teach you what you have been wanting to learn for years. We follow a curriculum that is specifically designed for teaching adult skaters in our group and private lessons. However experienced you are, we have a program for you!

  • Adult Levels 1-4
    • It's never too late to learn a new skill. Beginner adults can learn to march, glide, stop, and begin basic backward movements.
      Once you are more comfortable on your blades you can learn to spin, crossover, and much more.

  • Fit Skate For Hockey Boot Camp
    • Do you play for in League? Are slap shots during Stick & Puck times not enough?
      Join our Skating Academy's Fit Skate for Hockey Boot Camp session to get the upper edge during game time.
      Our Coaches will work with you on:
      Edgework, Agility, Speed, Conditioning, Stick Handling & more!
      Only 16 Slots Available as coaches will work with each skater to enhance their skating technique & stick handling.

      10 Week Package - $500
      Session begins 12/8/18

      Saturdays 9:00pm - 10:00pm
      Package includes 4 passes to our
      Stick & Puck Sessions for practice times
      (A savings of $60 )

      Lasker Skating Academy offers Freestyle Sessions
      Fridays from 9:30am to 10:30am
      Fee: $12.00

      Must be 18 years and older
      Must have your own skates

  • Frequently Asked Questions
    • How can I register?
      Registration for our programs are available online. 

      Do classes fill up?
      While popular programs and class times do fill up, as long as space remains available, some classes and programs will remain open for new enrollment throughout the season.

      How do I know what level I am at?
      One of our Academy coaches will do an evaluation during your first lesson and determine what class you should be in.

      How will I know I am ready to move up to the next level?
      Members progress on their own pace, are evaluated throughout the season and promoted to the next level when appropriate. 

      How many lessons do I have left?

      Contact the Skating Academy's office at 917-492-3858.

      When will I receive my membership card?
      You will receive your membership card on your first day of the lesson. 

      I don't have my card, can you check me in?
      Students MUST have their cards in order to check in for lessons.

      I lost my card, can I get another one?
      Yes, there is a $10 replacement fee. 

      I think I signed up for the wrong class?
      No worries! Contact the Skating Academy's office and we will correct the issue.

      Can my friend skate with me?
      No, Only students enrolled in Skating Academy program can skate during their designated lesson/practice time. If they wish to skate, they may pay admission and rent skates during public session.

      What if I am running late for my lesson?
      Lessons are on a time schedule. You are still able to check in and join lessons but unfortunately you lose the minutes you are late.

      I am unable to come to my registered class, can I come on another day?
      If you are unable to make your class, please contact the Skating Academy's office 24 hours in advance to see if it is possible.

      What happens when the weather is bad?
      You may check the status of your skating program on days of inclement weather by logging on to our website: Weather status updates can be found on the home page of our website. We also have an Instagram account dedicated to Skating Academy @laskerskatingschool.

      What should I wear during lessons?
      Gloves are recommended since you may fall on the ice. Comfortable clothing and a hat is suggested.

      What is your refund policy?
      Lesson fees are non-refundable, but credit may be transferred to another skater or future skating season.
